Introduction:

Cryptography in cloud computing uses encryption techniques to secure the data that will be used or stored in the cloud. Cryptography allows users to conveniently and secure the access to shared cloud services, as any of the data that is hosted by cloud providers is protected with encryption. Cryptography in the cloud protects sensitive data without delaying the information exchange. Cloud cryptography keeps your critical data safe and secure even if it is beyond your corporate IT surrounding, where that data is no longer under your control.

What does Cryptography mean?

•Cryptography is a process for protecting the information and the communications with the help of codings. So that can only those for whom the information is planed can read and process it.

•In computer technology, cryptography refers to secure the information and communication techniques that is derived from mathematical concepts and a set of rule that is based on calculations called algorithms, to convert the messages in ways that are hard to decipher. These deterministic algorithms are used for cryptographic key generation, digital signs, verification to protect data privacy, web browsing, and confidential communications for example credit card transactions and email.

How does Cloud Cryptography work?

•Cloud cryptography is based upon encryption, where algorithms and computers are used to scramble text into a mixed code, called ciphertext. The ciphertext can be changed into plaintext with an encryption key, by decoding it with a series of bits. Encryption is used to secure two types of data known as information at rest and information in transit. Data encryption following ways are:

1. Full disk encryption — This is the main way to safeguard hard drives on computers and when any files are saved on an external drive, it will be automatically encrypted.

2. End-to-end encryption — Senders and receivers send messages, whereby they are the only ones who can read it. let us take an example, Facebook makes the use of this in the messenger application.

3. File encryption — This is when at rest of the data is encrypted so that if an unofficial person tries to seize a file, they will not be able to access the details it holds.

4. Preencryption of data that are synced with the cloud — Before any details get into the cloud, there is a software application to pre-encrypt it, making it unachievable to read for anyone who tries to hack it.

Benefits of Cloud Cryptography:

1. Privacy — The data remains private for clients since the information would be sensitive and reduces the chance of fraud from unauthorized users.

2. Enhanced Data Security — When the data is being brought over from one system to another system, the transfer of the data is at a pitfall and the encryption prevents the details from being unsafe.

3. Users — Ever since, the cloud cryptography uses hard-line measures of security, businesses receives the notification immediately if an unauthorized user tries to make changes. The only people who can gain the access, are the only ones who have receives cryptographic keys.

Drawbacks of Cloud Cryptography:

1. Costs — Having data encrypted can also be costly as systems are advanced and need to be maintained as well as updated.

2. Glitches — Any IT professional will be well aware that even though the data can be protected from transfer from one system to another system. There is still a pitfall of having a server glitch.

3. Data Recovery — Having your data protected is comforting, however. overly protective measures can cause obstacles for the business when reclaiming data. let us take an example, the more keys you have, the more effortful it is to enter into the server.

Conclusion:

Cloud Cryptography is encryption that secures the data stored in the cloud. Several proportions are being placed within cloud cryptography which boosts a strong layer of protection to safe and secures the data by avoiding being breached, hacked, or affected by any malware. Any type of data that is hosted by cloud providers is safe and secured with encryption, allowing users to access shared cloud services safely and securely, and conveniently. Cloud Cryptography is safe and secures sensitive data without any delay in the delivery of information.
